Vape Blast 2015

Vape Blast is FREE for the public to attend. Vape Blast will have vendor exhibits, entertainment and guest speakers; it’s an 18+ ONLY event, so no one under the age of 18 is allowed. List of exhibitors includes Alternative Smoking Solutions, Beyond Vape, Black Bamboo, Celestial Vapors, Centerfold Vape Co., Euroflavor and X2O.

September 4-6, 2015
Winston Salem, NC

If you missed North Carolina’s massive Vapor Slam event in the spring, you can still get in on the action with the end of summer VapeMania at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem. This event is hosted by Mooch and Freeze from Totally Vaping Awesome. There will be special appearances from Vape-a-Vet, Vaping Militia, SpinFuel, and Plumes of Hazard. You don’t want to miss this one!

VapeMania 15 is September 4th, 5th, and 6th 2015. Doors open to the public at Noon all 3 days. It will close at 10PM on Friday and Saturday and 6PM on Sunday. Business to business hours are all 3 days, 9AM-Noon.

Many vapers who have been into vaping for quite some time are coming to a point where they need to twerk/upgrade their device for better quality performance. It has been a popular discussion in the vape mods scene on what is more preferable, a box mod or a mechanical mod?

Basically, a mechanical mod is a simple vaporizing device with a tube that holds the battery and button for it to deliver current to the atomizer. On the other hand, box mod is, quite literally, a box vape that contains electronics and wirings. So, essentially, these two are different in build and in structure. But we are going to delve deeper in to their pros, cons, and contrasts.

DESIGN

A mechanical mod is much simpler and slimmer holding only its tube and its other half. A mechanical mod is only about 4” – 6” just perfect for people who wants to keep things simple and classy. On the contrary, box mod is taller and wider because of its ‘box’ feature. Simply put, it is bulkier than the mechanical.

DURABILITY

A box mod is more erratic to physical damage because of its structure made out of, mostly, wood and aluminum compared to mechanical mods that are usually made from stainless steel, brass, or copper.

BATTERY LIFE

Because of its ‘box’ feature, a box mod can have electronics that can lower that current usage depending on your setting resulting to minimal use of battery. Unlike in a mechanical mod, full force of the current is always used every press of the button and may cause exceeding battery use.

SAFETY

Box mod, if regulated, can detect problems with in the device, thus, it will not work if such problems are detected. To add, some box mods have functions like thermal and reverse polarity protection in which the mechanical mod is lacking.

PRICE

With the mechanical mods’ simpler design and functions, it is cheaper compared to box mods’ complex electronics and circuits. Though this factor usually depends on the brand you are comparing, but still in general, mechanical mods do surpass box mods when it comes to price.

On the bottom line, preference is still where it really comes down. Think about the factors and choose what you prefer, though both are good vape devices. ENJOY VAPING!

One of the best and safer ways is the use of vape mods. And when it comes to vape mods, there are lots of them to choose from, but, as a beginner, the use of mechanical mods is most recommended.

What is a mechanical mod? A mechanical mod is a simple vaporizing device with a tube that holds the battery and button for it to deliver current to the atomizer. It is the simplest form of all vaporizers. It has five basic parts/accessories, those as follows: (1) the mod or the battery housing and also includes the coil heater, (2) the tank where the juice is stored, (3) the tip or drip tip aka mouth piece, (4) the e-juice or the flavor juice, and (5) the battery charger.

Since no circuits involved in mechanical mods, they are very easy to use and guaranteed durable and modifiable.

Upon choosing your own device, a good starter mechanical mod must be easy to use and easy to maintain, averagely priced, safe, and approved tried and tested by lots of people.

Maintenance is easy for mechanical mods, since the parts are basic and simple to organize and arrange. Clean it using a rag with rubbing alcohol all down and cotton buds for tight spaces and hard to reach areas.

The thing that you need to be cautious about though is the battery. Batteries can fail due to overly use and poor maintenance. Most common mishap on battery failure is cause by accidentally pressing the pin button for too long. To clarify things more about batteries, here are some tips:
– Use only hi quality batteries (IRC or IMR batteries)
– Only buy batteries on trusted vendors
– Do not overcharge your batteries
– Check their voltage using a multimeter, make sure it won’t go down 3.5V
– If your battery gets dented, replace it immediately
– Don’t trust on cheap chargers

Mechanical mods are very user friendly, but if not maintained properly their durability may be defiled. Just be a responsible owner. So enjoy and have fun vaping.
